I moved to LA because I wanted to tell stories.  I always loved TV and film and moved to LA to become a writer and actor.  But after a year and a half of writing a couple screen plays and taking acting classes I stumbled into Stand up.  I never lost sight of writing.  Here are some stand up clips and some shorts.  I write all of my stand up and wrote all of these shorts.  The eventual goal is to create my own TV show and maybe down the road to make some movies, in the meantime check out these shorts.

  • #TBT to one of my favorite videos of all time.

10 years ago I made some shorts for Atom.com which was later bought by Comedy Central this was one of them. I thought it would be fun to imagine Hannibal Lecter heading back into the real world and trying to fit in. Mad props to Kate Reinders Tony Camin and Joe DeRosa for playing in my world on this one. As always love Walleye Pictures & Sound for producing. Enjoy and if you dig, share! ‪#‎TBT‬

  • Second episode of “Self Taught” : Pregnancy Test

Hey guys, here is episode #2 of the web series “Self Taught” that I shot for Fox.  Please enjoy and share if you dig.

  • “Self Taught” Episode 1, Best Man

Hey guys, this is a short I wrote, directed and produced for FOX a couple years back.  The series was called “Self Taught” and I was fortunate enough to work with some great actors.  Take a look.

  • Jay and Ru

Maybe the greatest woman I have ever known.  She and I had so much fun together!  I have some other old videos with her I will get up eventually!!!

  • I’m Not Racist

This is a great short that my buddy Ryan Sickler wrote.  I was lucky enough to act in it with Ry.  It was featured on Tosh.0.

  • A Friend In Need

Maybe the dumbest short I ever made but I think it’s so funny, ok more weird than anything!  I love Ryan Sickler with all my heart, he’s the best!!!

  • Confessions of a Trivial Thief: Chai Latte

I love to steal from people I know, it’s just a thing I do.  I’ve stolen tooth paste from Nick Thune and candles from Joe Derosa, it just makes life more interesting.  I always liked the idea of telling a story through single pictures, the audience has to focus on each one and really pay attention.

  • Confessions of a Trivial Thief: Craigslist

I love to steal from people I know, it’s just a thing I do.  I’ve stolen tooth paste from Nick Thune and candles from Joe Derosa, it just makes life more interesting.  I always liked the idea of telling a story through single pictures, the audience has to focus on each one and really pay attention.

  • Call Me Back Bro

When I was releasing my album I wanted to lead up to it with some shorts, this was one of them.  It’s just plain fun.  Plus I love to rant, it’s part of my charm.

  • The Steamer

I had this idea for a web series or TV show but all we ever made was this short.  I still love it, maybe because I love Maria Bamford, Eddie Pepitone and Tom Shilue, they are all so talented!

  • Gerkie

This is the first short film I ever made.  I told my good buddy and director Jay Gallagher that I wanted to make this short film, I sent him the script, he gave some notes and we shot it in a couple hours at his apartment on the Lower east Side.  I tell you the best things in life are the simplest!  This is based on the first nickname I ever gave my wife!

  • Wikipedia

This is a short film I made for Atom Films and Comedy Central. I love this short and had a ton of fun making this back in New York!

  • Jay Larson – “Heart Attack”

This is a clip from one of my favorite LA shows, Super Serious, the producers Joel and Mandee are the best and have always appreciated my stand up and have given me many opportunities.  I always have fun at their shows.

  • This is Not Happening – Comedy Central

If you missed my episode of “This is not Happening” on Comedy Central here is a link to the entire story.  This is a great story telling show hosted by Ari Shaffir and I was stoked to be a part of it!!!  I have always loved telling stories and had been holding on to this one for a long time!

  • Jay Larson on Conan – Wrong Number

This is one of my favorite sets of all time.  I love this story and love that Conan and his booker JP Buck gave me the opportunity to do a full story on Late night TV, most bookers stay away from that!  I love story telling and am really proud of this one!

  • Jay Larson on The Pete Holmes Show

Pete Holmes is one of the funniest people I have ever met and super smart, I loved his show and was super bummed when it got cancelled!  Ry and I had so much fun on the show.

  • Jay Larson at The Laugh Factory

    I love the Laugh Factory

  • Jay Larson – “Auntie Gert”

Another clip from Super Serious show in LA.  My Nana and her sisters played a huge role in my upbringing and I miss them all the time, I love being to pay homage to them in my stand up.

  • Jay Larson on The Late Late Show

This was my third TV appearance.  back in the day my imagination really ruled my stand up and I think this is a great example of that.
